46-Storey Tower Proposed for Brentwood Area
A 46-storey tower has been proposed for the Southeast corner of Halifax Street and Gilmore Avenue in the Brentwood Town Centre area of Burnaby. The rezoning proposal for the site at 1846-1904 Gilmore Ave includes 340 units, 374 underground parking spaces, and a total density of 5.0 FAR under the City’s RM-5s designation.

I have no objections to this high rise except to say that, as planned it is too close to Halifax St., where already there is vehicular/pedestrian confusion at this jogged corner. Locate it, say about fifty or more feet southerly and widen the street here i.e. take more of the former northerly International Meats property from the lane to Gilmore St. and have a more widened road.This is also true of the other side of Halifax where I believe Ledingham MacAllister plan their new high rise (northeast corner)
